Zenodot's August 2026 Update: A More Capable Librarian and Better Note Capture

Zenodot’s August update makes the app feel more continuous, more capable, and easier to use every day. Your conversations with the Librarian now stay with you, the Librarian can help make changes inside your Library, and capturing notes is more comfortable. We have also added Simplified Chinese, speech recognition for Pro users, and a broad round of user experience and under-the-hood improvements.

The Librarian remembers where you left off

Librarian chat now persists even after you close the app. When you come back, your conversation is still there, so you can continue a line of thought instead of reconstructing the context from memory.

That continuity matters when a question turns into a longer investigation. You can ask a follow-up, return to an earlier answer, or pick up a thread when you have time - without treating every visit as a brand-new conversation.

Work with the Librarian to shape your Library

The Librarian is no longer limited to answering questions about your saved material. You can now work with it to make changes to your Library.

Ask the Librarian to help organize or refine your saved Pages, and it can prepare a complete set of changes for the app to handle. Depending on the request, that can include creating, renaming, moving, editing, or deleting Library items. Zenodot applies safe changes directly when it can and presents a proposal for your approval when a review is needed.

This makes the Librarian feel less like a search box and more like a thoughtful collaborator: you describe the outcome you want, inspect the proposed work when necessary, and keep control of what changes.

A better notes composer

The notes composer has had a focused usability pass. Writing a quick thought, adding context to a longer note, and moving through the editor should all feel more natural now.

The goal is simple: give ideas room to arrive without making capture feel like administrative work. Zenodot should help you save the rough version first, then let the Library and the Librarian help you develop it later.

Simplified Chinese support

Zenodot now supports Simplified Chinese, making the core app available in another language from the moment you capture a thought through the moment you ask the Librarian for help.

The Librarian also follows the language you use in your conversation, so you can work with your Library in the language that feels most natural.

Speech recognition for Pro users

Pro users can now use on-device speech recognition in the note and Librarian composers on supported iOS devices. Dictate a note or speak a question, then review the transcription before saving or sending it.

It is a small change to the input method, but an important one for moments when typing is slower than thinking—whether you are walking, between meetings, or simply trying to keep an idea intact.

A quieter, stronger Zenodot

Alongside the visible features, this release includes user experience upgrades and under-the-hood improvements across the app. We have tightened interactions, smoothed out rough edges, and strengthened the foundations that make the Library, editor, and Librarian work together.

Not every improvement needs a feature label. A better app is also one that feels more predictable, responds more cleanly, and asks less of you while you are trying to save or retrieve something important.

Android is in the works

Zenodot is available today on iOS, and an Android version is in the works. We are building toward the same capture-first Library experience on more devices and will share more when Android is ready.
